He is Risen!

Easter is my favorite holiday to celebrate. That is because this is it-the basis for our faith. We worship a living Savior! Remember what Easter is all about.

She watched as the sun rose
And to His tomb she went
Her heart, it ached inside her
And all her tears were spent
As she drew near, she noticed
That something was going on
For the tomb was empty
And away the stone was rolled.

The man, He walked up to her
And she began to weep
Someone has come and taken Him
While we were all asleep
And in a voice familiar
He gently called her name
Her eyes were opened to the risen Lord
And her life was never the same.

I walked through life not able
To see the risen Lord
I thought that pains and hopelessness
Were all that life could afford
Until a gentle, loving voice
Sweetly called my name
My eyes were opened to Jesus
And my life has never been the same.

We have no promises that life will be easy, but we have a Savior who walks with us every step of the way. By His grace and sacrifice, we have the promise that this world is only a stopping point on our way to heaven
He is Risen! Happy Easter!

Mercy

He said"Father forgive them
For they know not what they do"
And now I know how much
His love for me is true
For the One who knew no sin
As tears of sorrow the angels cried
Bore all my sin at Calvary
As He hung His head and died

To give His life for us
We gave Him no choice
"Crucify Him!"
Our sins cried out with one voice
But the Father, full of mercy
Reached out our souls to spare
The sacrifice of Love was made
His mercy with us to share.

Blessings

I am back from a little vacation in posts on here. I don't know what happened but now I am back. I have been thinking a lot lately about how God blesses us and forgives us when we really don't deserve it. He loves each of us unconditionally and expects the same from us. In Psalm 103 it says " Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all you iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies."Psalm 103: 1-4. I know that I do not deserve what God has so freely given me just by believing. I know everyday that Jesus died on the cross to pay for my sin. If God's love and mercy is so easily given to us, why can't we do the same for each other? Love is unconditional. Love doesn't seek to hurt people. Love doesn't judge. Love is God living in us.

Great strides

I think most of you know by now that my daughter Rebekah has cystic fibrosis. She is active in raising money for Great Strides, a walk held each year. She is trying to have 10000 visitors on her blog. Click on the link below to read about her and what she is trying to do. Be one of her visitors. Visit often. She is a great writer (not just because I am her mother) and has an inspiring story to tell. The link is http://www.bekahboosc.com/

Happy New Year!

Well, another year has come and gone. We have passed over the thresh hold into 2009. I am thankful for all of God's blessings during 2008. There have been so many. Sure there have been some not so good things too. But in the scheme of things, they just really don't matter. I have learned to take everyday as it comes and let God be in control. I have seen loved ones and friends diagnosed with cancer last year and this year will bring one of the toughest fights of their lives. I pray God's mercy and healing power on them in their struggles and know from personal experience how much our prayers make a difference when people are going through cancer. I lost a friend to cancer just before Christmas. I will forever remember her words the last time that I talked to her. She said "If I don't see you again here, then I will see you there." I know that she is in heaven with our Heavenly Father right at this moment. What beautiful faith! She knew that she was ready to meet Jesus. I pray that this year will bring many blessings to you and your families and that your faith and assurance of what lies ahead of us will only be strengthened through this year. Off we go into this new year!
